If you live in one of Century City’s residential towers, you don’t need to go anywhere to sign your estate plan. A mobile notary can come up to your unit in 90067, notarize the trust documents, powers of attorney and health care directive, and leave you with a finished set.
Residents of the towers along Avenue of the Stars and around Century Park West book us when their attorney’s office isn’t convenient, when a spouse isn’t well enough to travel, or when they just prefer to sign at home.
Tell the concierge
Residential towers check guests in at the front desk. Let the concierge know a notary is coming, and tell us whether there’s guest parking or a valet. That saves 15 minutes in the lobby.
Which documents usually get notarized
- Trust documents your attorney marks for notarization, often the trust’s signature page or a certification of trust. See living trusts.
- A deed moving your condo into the trust. Deeds take a thumbprint in our journal. See deeds.
- A durable power of attorney for finances.
- An advance health care directive, which can be notarized or signed before two qualified witnesses.
A will is different. California wills are usually witnessed rather than notarized, so ask your attorney how they want it signed and whether witnesses need to be there.
Get the signers ready
- Both spouses, if both are signing, with ID that’s current or issued in the last five years.
- Pick a time of day when everyone is rested and unhurried. A full set can take 30 to 45 minutes.
- Have your attorney’s tabs or instructions handy, so we know which pages get notarized.
What we can’t do
We don’t prepare or explain estate documents. Questions about what the trust says belong with your attorney. Powers of attorney, trusts and directives carry a higher travel fee; see our Policies. More about our work in 90067 on our Century City notary page.
