How after-hours pricing works

The notarization itself is capped by California law at $15 per signature (see California notary fees). The travel fee is what changes: our standard rates apply 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays, and fees go up in the evening, overnight, early morning, on weekends and on holidays. Late-night appointments are when small problems hurt most, because there’s no time for a second visit. Before you book, check the appointment checklist: an acceptable ID for every signer, the document printed and complete, and any required witnesses lined up.
