Wedding Ceremonies in Los Angeles: Same-Day, Private, at Your Location
No courthouse line and no big production: a short, warm ceremony at your home, a park, a hotel or our Santa Monica location, often the same day you call.
Home Marriage Wedding Ceremonies
Quick answer
Yes. We perform simple, private wedding ceremonies anywhere in Los Angeles County, at your home, a park, a beach, a hotel or our location in Santa Monica, and same-day ceremonies are often available. You’ll need a valid California marriage license: either a public license from the county clerk, or a confidential license, which we can help you get through our third-party partner. A $100 deposit holds your date and time. Call (424) 484-9268 or book online.

What the ceremony is like
Most of our ceremonies take 10 to 20 minutes. We keep it simple and calm: a short welcome, your vows (you can write your own or use ours), the exchange of rings if you have them, and the declaration that makes it official. Then we complete the license with you on the spot.
- Just the two of you, or with family and friends
- Your choice of place: your home or backyard, a park, a beach, a hotel, a restaurant, or our Santa Monica location
- Any day of the week, including evenings and weekends, by appointment
- Your own words: readings, a poem or a few words from a family member are welcome
The marriage license comes first
California requires a valid marriage license before the ceremony. There are two kinds:
| Public marriage license | Confidential marriage license | |
|---|---|---|
| Where you get it | The county clerk (in LA County, the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk) | The county clerk, or through our third-party partner |
| Who can use it | Any couple eligible to marry | Couples already living together as spouses (Family Code § 500) |
| Witnesses at the ceremony | At least one witness | None required |
| Is the record public? | Yes | No, the record is confidential |
| How long it’s valid | 90 days from issue | 90 days from issue |
We don’t issue marriage licenses ourselves. When you want a confidential license, we arrange it through our third-party partner, who is authorized by the county, and we can often schedule it for the same visit as your ceremony.
Both of you need valid photo ID for the license. Bring the license to the ceremony; we can’t perform the ceremony without it.
After the ceremony
We complete and sign the license with you, and the license is returned to the county for registration (Family Code § 359). Once it’s registered you can order certified copies of your marriage certificate from the county. If you need the certificate for use abroad, see apostille for a marriage certificate.
